BASIC
CLUB RULES.
A) All drivers must follow
these rules and complete the declaration and agreement contained within
the registration, entry and signing on forms.
B) You join the club only after having read, understood and accepted its rules. Drivers must also
complete a registration form before or at the beginning of each season.
C) The lap scorer's decision is final! We will not alter any result, if you can't accept this rule, do
not race.
D) The scrutineer's decision is final! If your car is refused put it
right, it's the only way it will be allowed to race.
E) Do not argue with track marshals,
particularly when a race is in progress.
F) Any threats to the organisers or
its staff will result in a life ban.
G) Fighting on the track or in the
pits will result in a season ban.
H) Only vehicles towing or carrying race cars are allowed in the pits, all other
vehicles must be parked in the car park. The maximum speed limit in the pits for all vehicles is
5mph!! Any faster will result in
a ban. Dangerous driving in the pits and spinning wheels will also result in a ban.
I) Any driver found under the influence
of drink or drugs will result in a
life ban.
NOTE
When a driver is banned, this also means the race number and that car
cannot race for the duration of the ban. Drivers who share a car should
note that if this happens the other drivers cannot race that car or use
that race number.
IN THE PITS
A) Before unloading / loading all drivers / mechanics must ensure it is safe to do so.
B) Vehicles should not be suspended
from a hiab for prolonged periods or for the purpose of repair.
C) All fuel should be stored in appropriate
fuel cans at all times and kept closed other than for the purpose of refueling.
D) Fuel should be kept in a suitable
place and well out of reach of children.
E) Drivers should not bring excessive
amounts of fuel to the track and should bring only sufficient for the
days racing.
F) Strictly no smoking when refueling
a vehicle or standing near to a vehicle which is been refueled.
G) Any spares, broken parts, wheels,
tyres, car panels, bumpers etc. should be removed from the pit area at
the end of the day and taken home with the driver. Anyone found dumping
in the pit area will face a ban.
H) Any vehicle which is been repaired
or worked on should be done so in a safe place and a safe manner particularly
in relation to the straightening and / or repairing of a bent car by use
of a sledgehammer, pulling equipment, stihl saws, welding etc. All drivers / mechanics
should ensure that all spectators are well clear of their vehicle before
commencing such repairs.
I) Any vehicle which requires lifting
or jacking up should be done so using the appropriate equipment. Vehicles
should not be suspended from a hiab, balanced on recovery truck ramps
or raised on a winch or the like for the purpose of repair. Appropriate
jacking equipment should be used at all times, in a safe area on flat
ground.
J) Drivers and / or mechanics must,
at all times, ensure that they are acting in a safe manner and always
be aware of the safety of the spectators in the pit area.
K) At no time should anyone be sat
on a vehicle while it is been driven in the pits. Any vehicle moving in
the pits should only be driven by the driver or his mechanic or, in the
case of novices, the parent or guardian.
L) The maximum speed limit in the pits is 5 mph!!
ON THE TRACK
A) Enter and exit the track by the
entrance / exit gate only when told to do so by a marshal.
B) Before entering the track all helmets
must be on and fastened and all harnesses fastened.
C) On entering the track you will
be advised by a marshal where to position your car and this will be decided
on your roof grade and / or points.
D) The rolling lap will start when
signalled by the marshals.
E) The racing starts on the signal
of the marshals and the starter by the dropping of the green flag and
the green traffic lights will come on.
F) Each race is 10 laps unless advised
otherwise.
G) Only stop in case of mechanical
breakdown or a signal to do so from a marshal. If forced to stop on the
track try to park as safely as possible.
H) If forced to stop on the track
you should only exit your vehicle when it is safe to do so and when a
marshal advises it is safe to do so. You must not return to you car or
attempt to re start or
re enter the race even if the race has been stopped.
I) Once out of your car you should
stand in the centre of the infield. DO NOT stand on the edges or close to
the track.
J) DO NOT return to your car until
the racing has stopped. If your car requires to be removed by the tractor
you must wait with your car for the tractor.
K) At the end of the race the red
flags will be shown and the red traffic lights will come on. You must
slow your car down to a rolling lap. DO NOT slam your brakes on.
L) If you have received a position
in the race (1st 2nd or 3rd) you should park opposite race control in
order to receive your trophy and you will then be taken on a lap of honour
in the pace car.
NOTE
Bangers do not carry a car into the tyres and ''follow through'' i.e.
with power still on, do not deliberately push cars into stationary cars
or ram stationary cars, this is a banning offence.
FLAGS AND COLOURS
Green flag ....................... Start race
Yellow flag ....................... Caution!! No contact!! Obstructions
hold your position.
Yellow flag ''waved''......... Extreme caution!! Usually someone is on
his or her roof. Go carefully.
Red flag ........................... You must stop racing immediately.
Yellow / black cross ........ Last lap.
White / black cross ......... Under Observation.
Black flag ......................... Leave the track immediately.
Chequered ...................... Winners, waved for first, second and
third place.
Red Flags / Race Stoppage
A race will always be called if 7 laps or more have been completed.
The driver(s) causing the red flag stoppage will not be allowed to restart the race (if 7 laps have not been completed).
The driver(s) causing the red flag stoppage will not receive any points if 7 laps or more have been completed.
It will still remain the decision of the starter whether to call a race after 5 or 6 laps have been completed.
TRAFFIC LIGHTS
Green light .......... Start race
Amber light.......... Extreme caution
Red light............... Stop
POINTS
Points will be given as follows in all heats and the final
1st place........... 10 points
2nd place.......... 8 points
3rd place........... 6 points
4th placer.......... 5 points
5th place........... 4 points
6th place........... 3 points
7th place........... 2 points
8th place........... 1 points
Roof colours are to be used at all times and the full
roof of the car must be painted, these colours tell the spectators
and other drivers how you are doing in the championship.
White roof......................... 0 to 30 points
Yellow roof........................ 31 to 70 points
Blue roof........................... 71 to 100 points
Red roof........................... 101 points and over
NOTE
Roof fins will help the lap scorer,
please use them.

THE DRIVER
A) You must wear a full harness, which
passes over both shoulders and has a quick release buckle.
B) All drivers must wear a crash helmet
and keep it on at all times, especially when climbing out of a ''dead''
car while a race is still in progress.
C) All drivers must wear stout boots.
D) It is strongly recommended that
all drivers wear gloves and goggles and a neck brace.
E) You must race in overalls, not
T-shirts, short sleeves or vests. It is strongly recommended that overalls are ‘Proban’ or other flame retardent type.
F) Drivers may only race under their
own number as chosen or allotted when they joined the club.
This stops amassing points for drivers who are absent.
G) All drivers wishing to race must be signed in.
H) In ''split'' heats, each car can
only race in the first or second heat, not both, whether a shared car
or not.
I) Do not complain at the lap scorers
decision, it is final and will not change the result.
J) On race days the decision of officials is final. If however a driver feels that he / she has been unfairly penalised they can submit a written Appeal to the promoters within 48 hours of the meeting closing, this will be considered and a written reply given or an invitation to an appeal meeting to discuss the incident further. MAIN RULE: BOLT'S
AND PLATE'S ( 1600cc to 2000cc BANGERS )
Bangers MUST not carry

There must be NO HEAD ON's, this will result
in a ban.
Banger Rods are strictly minimum contact nudge and spin formula.
Banger Rods MUST not carry a car into the
tyres and "follow through" with
the power still on.
Banger Rods MUST not deliberately push cars
into stationary cars or ram stationary cars, this is a banning offence.
There must be NO HEAD ON's, this will
result in a ban.
All bolts used to build a car must
be a minimum of (M12) 19mm spanner size, also all bolts must have adequate
plates and washers.
A) A battery isolator must be fitted
and securely fixed.
B) A fuel tap must be fitted and be
easy to turn on / off.
C) All cars must be fitted with an
under bonnet steam tank.
D) All cars must be fitted with a
drivers door safety bar which must come past both pillars,this must be
made from flat plate only, no box section or angle iron and must be at
least 10 inches in depth & a Minimum of 12mm thick, it must be fastened
to the car using 4 bolts (minimum) and must be bolted through the pillars.
No spinner bars to be used.
E) Overalls must be worn (but do not
have to be fire proof or racing overalls). It is strongly recommended that overalls are ‘Proban’ or other flame retardent type.
F) All helmets must be (A) type and
will be checked at scrutineering every week. Eye protection must also
be worn.
G) Passengers side doors must be bolted
shut using a square plate at a minimum of 10 inches square with 4 or 5
holes. These plates must be a maximum of 10mm thick & a minimum of
3mm thick. The rear doors must also be bolted shut. Corner plates a maximum
of 18x18 inch and no thicker than 5mm are recommended, but 2 bolts are
permitted at the very back of the bonnet to hold it down.
H) A maximum of 4 bonnet bolts &
a minimum of 2 should be used (unless as above)
I) If using a fire extinguisher as
a petrol tank it must be securely fastened to the front passenger side
of the roll cage.
J) All Batteries if not fitted to
cage must be fastened down in a secure battery box. Batteries not contained in a box must be covered with an insulating material to avoid spillage.
K) All cars must be fitted with a
small fire extinguisher (fitted to roll cage within easy reach of driver).
L) All cars must have visible roof
colours to match there grading.
M) All roll cages must be fitted using
4 bolts at least 2 top 2 bottom. Cages must be constructed of at least
40x40mm box section (no acro's) no scaffolding etc.
N)The original fuel tank must be removed from the car.
O) All drivers' seats must be tied
to the roll cage.
P) All harnesses must be fastened
to cage.
Q)WELDING SPEC: unlimited welding
on drivers doors. Box section is permitted in both front doors & 2
small 6 inch pieces in top of rear doors. Corner plates can be fully welded.
These rules will be strictly adhered to.
ALL OF THE INTERIOR MUST BE FULLY REMOVED OR THE CAR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
TO RACE. NO PLASTIC BUMPERS TO BE LEFT ON THE CAR.

1600cc BANGER STOX SPECIFICATION
A) Maximum engine size 1600cc.
B) The only cars that can be used are those that have been manufactured with a 1600 cc engine or less. No Mondeo’s, Bluebirds, Primera’s or Vectra’s.
C) The scrutineers decision is final as to whether a vehicle is suitable to race in this category or not.
D) Banger stox must be box standard, no armour or welding (except drivers door) which may have a steel plate welded or bolted on for protection.
E) Replacement wings, boots, bonnets etc. must come from the same model of vehicle.
F) Bonnets, boots, and doors should open as designed and be opened on the request of a scrutineer they may also be bolted, chained or roped shut.
G) All interior fittings and all glass must be removed, (not at the racetrack).
H) A roll cage made from 3'' max. Or 1.5'' Min. Square or round tube must be secured at the top and bottom on plates and bolted. No scaffolding clamps allowed and any adjustable feet must be welded. The driver's seat must also be supported at shoulder level.
I) Tow balls to be removed and tow bars must be flush with the vehicle body, or removed as well.
J) Remove petrol tank, oil cans cannot be used as petrol tanks.
K) Remove the jack and spare wheel from the boot.
L) All open sunroofs to be securely sheeted bolted or welded.
M) Through bolts from bonnet or boot down to front and rear subframe or crossmembers, even if said to be retaining bonnets or boots, will not be allowed.
N) Any banger-rod later to be found to have hidden armour (even if it did pass scrutineering) and deemed by the scrutineer to be armoured will collect a week's ban.
O) Any car not removed by the close of race day and not left with the permission of the organisers, will become the property of the organisers.
P) The radiator may be left in place or a steam tank used.
Q) Contact is allowed in this formula but no following cars in or turning the car around or head-ons (except in the DD for the last two).
NOTE
Drivers must always race under their own race number.

Dirt Rods Specification
This is a budget racing formula to attract new drivers onto track and drivers who would like to race regularly without the expense and time required to build banger cars regularly. The rules will be strictly enforced in this formula as for all other formulas in the interest of fair racing and safety.
This is a Senior Formula and all drivers to be aged 17 or above.
The maximum engine size is 1500 cc. No turbo’s allowed.
NO DELIBERATE CONTACT IS ALLOWED.
Any deliberate contact in this class is not allowed and will result in a ban for the offending driver.
Car Preparation & Eligibility.
A) Any two wheel drive car with Engine, Gearbox and differential remaining standard.
B) All lights, glass, exterior trims wheel weights and complete tow bars must be removed. Sunroofs must be plated with at least body thickness metal. Bumpers should be removed or securely fastened.
C) Dashboard removal is required. An Ignition isolator switch must be fitted and accessible at the nearside of the car and clearly marked ON/OFF. Steering lock removal is recommended, if retained the ignition key must be secured with a cable tie or wire loop to keep it near the switch.
D) Roll Bar or Roll Cage - An H frame must be fitted behind the drivers seat to act as a roll bar and seat support. Minimum 4 bolt fixing to roof and floor to protect the driver in event of a rollover. All bolts must have good sized washers and be a minimum of 17mm head bolts. All bars in close proximity to driver to be well padded. A 6 point roll cage may be used instead of the H frame. The roll cage must be a minimum of 4 point maximum of 6 point cage. The cage must be bolted with minimum of 2 bolts on each foot. Bars must be 2 inch square or 3 inch round. No scaffold bars, 2 posters or across are allowed. Internal bars to protect the driver and the car are allowed, internal bars must not touch roll cage or be continuous throughout length of car and a maximum of 2 inch box section.
E) Seat must be high backed, incorporate a headrest and be securely fastened.
F) A fully approved safety harness to be fitted, bolted to H Frame or to sound floor i.e. Original mounting points or 75mm x 75mm plates to be fitted under car as washers.
G) Fuel tank must be of stout construction with no more than 2 gallons capacity. Fitted in the H frame. All tanks must have a sealed filler cap and a breather from top of tank to discharge through car floor. Fuel taps optional but if fitted must be of good quality. Original fuel tanks to be removed.
H) No armoring to the car will be allowed except to the drivers side door where a door plate must be fitted. The door plate must be of flat plate and be no more than 12.5mm thick. It must not extend forward of the front pillar more than 6 inches or rear of back pillar by more than 18 inches. Door plate must not protrude more than 50mm (ie no armco or steel sections). It must be secured with at least 4 substantial bolts with large washers. Passenger doors must be tied/taped shut.
I) Boot lid & bonnet front must only be tied down. Rear of bonnet may be secured with 2 small plates or bolts to stop the bonnet going through the windscreen opening.
J) The battery must be covered with an insulating material to avoid spillage, if in a vulnerable position under the bonnet it may be positioned inside the car in a securely fastened battery box, preferably in a box on the H Frame.
K) Cars must have good working footbrakes.
L) Efficient exhaust systems must be fitted. Cars exceeding 98 decibels may be blacked-flagged by the clerk of the course.
M) No distributor protection is allowed. All bulkhead holes to be sealed.
N) Radiators must remain in original position with breathers directed at the track. No water tanks allowed, anyone found to have fitted a water tank after scrutineering will be loaded up & banned. A 40 mm maximum size metal bar may be fitted across the front of the car to provide radiator protection.
O) Race numbers displayed on the doors in contrasting colours and must also be on a 9" white roof fin with black numbers

SPECIALS SPECIFICATION
Specials is strictly none contact, any deliberate contact or contact
deemed to be deliberate will result in a black flag and or ban. The marshals
decision is final.
No one in the specials may share a car, one car one driver. Nor may you
borrow or use any other car or alter roof numbers. Membership to this
class is not transferable on the sale of a car; the new owner must join
the club and choose a new race number
Engine
A) The maximum engine size allowed
is 1600. Both block and head must
be 1600 or below.
B) No turbo, supercharging, fuel injection
or twin cams allowed.
C) All engines must be same manufacturer
as the car i.e. ford engine ford car. Random engine checks will be carried out.
D) No motorbike engines allowed.
E) Engines must not be mid or rear
mounted.
F) Batteries must be removed from
under the bonnet and fitted to the interior of the car and elevated. Batteries must be covered with an insulating material to avoid spillage or contained in a secure battery box.
G) Any exhausts, carburetor's, air
filters, cams allowed on any engine.
Fuel
A) Original petrol tank must be removed
from the car.
B) Tanks must be situated on rear
passenger seat area.
C) Maximum capacity of the fuel tank
is 2 gallon.
D) Fuel cut off switch must be fitted
and situated in passenger side footwell.
Body
A) Small cars only are allowed i.e.
fiesta / nova size no vans no estates
B) All cars must be fully stripped
of all interior including dashboards. All glass to be removed.
C) Seam welding is allowed.
D) Bonnets must be bolted
E) Minimum of inch square mesh on
windscreen with inch box fitted down the middle of the screen
F) Apex roof number boards must be
used which are a minimum of 12 inch and maximum of 18. Number board has
to be bolted down with 4 bolts 2 on either side. Number board is to be
fitted to the rear of roof.
G) Door numbers are optional
H) At least one brake light to be
fitted to the rear of the vehicle. No more than two brake lights to be
used.
I) No mirrors (including internal)
Cage
A) The roll cage must be a minimum
of 4 point maximum of 6 point cage. The cage must be bolted with minimum
of 2 bolts on each foot. Bars must be 2 inch square or 3 inch round.
B) No scaffold bars, 2 posters or
across are allowed.
C) Internal bars to protect the driver
and the car are allowed, internal bars must not touch roll cage or be
continuous throughout length of car and a maximum of 2 inch box section.
Interior
A) No mirrors.
B) All seats must be a bucket seat.
Original car seats will not be allowed.
C) The harness must be a minimum of
4 point harness with a minimum of 3 inch shoulder straps.
D) An isolator switch must be fitted
to and mounted on passenger rear quarter and easily visible.
E) A fire extinguisher must be fitted
and situated in passenger footwell. All fire extinguishers must be easily
removed.
F) The battery must not be strapped
or bolted to floor and must be elevated.
General
A) All cars are to be fully stripped
of all interior, interior panels, carpets, roof lining, dash board and
original petrol tank, Any cars not fully stripped will fail scrutineering.
B) All cars must be painted and presentable.
Any banger lookalikes will fail scrutineering.
C) All Specials must be washed, straightened
and paintwork presentable every week. Any car not up to standard will
have points deducted.

NOVICES SPECIFICATION
Vehicles permitted to race in this class are as follows:
FORD FIESTA OHV and AUSTIN MINI 850cc - 998cc - 1100cc.
Any vehicle not listed above will not be allowed to race under any circumstances.
All vehicles listed are to be of a ohv engine type for which technical data can be taken from a manual fully recognised for that vehicle i.e. Haynes manual. The vehicle must be listed on the contents page of all relevant data.
Changing of engines from any vehicle that is not normally recognised or is of a rare source will NOT be allowed to race, for example an engine from a van, injection, imported or modified in any way shape or form.
No left hand drive vehicles.
The specified vehicles must not be modified in any way to gain advantage unless stated in the rules.
Brampton Raceway will reserve the right to stop or consider any vehicle or persons from racing should any vehicle or persons find any loop holes in the rules.
Please ask before you consider any changes whether it be of a small or large nature.
Brampton Raceway will reserve the right to add or change the specified vehicles if it is seen that a vehicle can be easily modified or otherwise have an advantage over other drivers / cars.
Drivers must be aged between 10 and 16 at the beginning of the season.
Any driver who turns 17 during the season will be allowed to finish the
season in the Novices class. Proof of age will be required on registration as a driver.
Please note .... if a driver having reached 16yrs of age decides to and races in any of the senior classes they are no longer allowed to race in the Novice class.
No one in the novice class may share a car, one car one driver. Nor may
you borrow or use any other car or alter roof numbers. Membership to this
class is not transferable on the sale of a car; the new owner must join
the club and choose a new race number
Novices drivers are not allowed to drive in the pits. A designated driver must
take the car onto the track and position it as advised by the marshal
accordingly to roof colour and/or points.
The novice drivers must then ensure helmets are on and fastened and harnesses
fastened. The marshals will check all novices helmets and harnesses prior
to the race commencing.
The designated drivers must leave the track prior to the race commencing.
At the end of the race the novices must bring their cars to an appropriate
standstill near race control. The designated drivers will then be allowed
back on the track to remove the car.
Engine
A) The maximum engine size allowed
is 1100cc. Both block and head must
be 1100cc or below, no modifications allowed unless stated in the permitted section of the specifications. All engines must
be completely standard. Random engine checks will be carried out.
B) No turbo, supercharging, fuel injection
or twin cams allowed.
C) All engines must be of standard specification and same manufacturer
as the car i.e. ford engine ford car.
D) No mid, rear mounted or motorbike engines allowed.
E) Engines must not be mid or rear
mounted.
F) Batteries must be removed from
under the bonnet and fitted to the interior of the car and elevated
G) Only standard exhausts (no sport exhausts), carburetor's,
air filters and cams allowed.
H) The radiator must be fitted to
the front of the car.
I) An engine cut off swith must be fitted in an appropriate place with easy access.
Fuel
A) Original petrol tank must be removed
from the car.
B) Petrol tank must be situated on
rear passenger seat area.
C) Maximum capacity of the fuel tank
is 2 gallon.
D) Fuel cut off switch must be fitted
and situated in passenger side footwell, this is an important .
E) Pump fuel only to be used ( manufactured petrol) and lead addatives if needed.
F) There must be NO leaks whatsoever.
Body
A) Specified vehicle bodies only
B) All cars must be fully stripped
of all interior including dashboards. All glass to be removed completely.
C) Seam welding is allowed.
D) Bonnets and boots must have secure fastners that are accessible without the need of any tool, minimum of 2 per bonnet and 1 per boot lid providing the original hinges are used.
E) Minimum of 1 inch square mesh on
windscreen with 1 inch box fitted down the middle of the screen
F) All novices must have a drivers
door mesh fitted.
G) Apex or aero roof number boards must be
used which are a minimum of 12 inch and maximum of 18. Number board has
to be bolted down with 4 bolts 2 on either side. Number board is to be
fitted to the rear of roof.
H) Door numbers are optional
I) Two brake lights or 1 long led unit to be
fitted to the rear of the vehicle. No more than two brake lights to be
used..
J) No mirrors (including internal)
Cage
A) The roll cage must be a minimum
of 4 point maximum of 6 point cage, with minimum
of 2 bolts on each foot or plate and adequate plates to the underside. Bars must be 2 inch square or 3 inch round. No welding to sills.
B) No scaffold bars, 2 posters or
across are allowed.
C) Internal bars are not allowed in
novices cars.
Interior
A) No mirrors.
B) All seats must be a bucket seat and must be braced / supported by the roll cage.
Original car seats will not be allowed.
C) The harness must be a minimum of
4 point harness with a minimum of 3 inch shoulder straps.

and situated in passenger footwell. All fire extinguishers must be easily

MODIFICATIONS TO SPECIFIED VEHICLES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
It is permitted that the head can be skimmed.
It is permitted that the shock absorbers can be changed to permitted cars without any modifications to the body or running gear for a sports type shock absorber.
It is permitted to use mud / snow tyres unless a scruteneer feels they are unsafe or inappropriate.
It is permitted under the scruteneers judgment to have distributor protection.
It is permitted to seem weld doors / boot / head light blank offs and rear light blank offs providing that visible checks can be made.
It is permitted to use a 1" x 1" box section to the front and rear of permitted cars for protection providing it does not go beyond the scruteneers judgment.
It is permitted to use either a points or electronic distributor.
It is permitted to use protection for radiators that are deemed necessary for protection.
MODIFICATIONS THAT ARE NOT PERMITTED OR OTHERWISE STATED IN THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
No twin carbs or webbers.
No modifications to exhaust in order to gain horse power or advantage.
No internal modifications to engines allowed whatsoever i.e. crank, pistons, stroke, bore size and camshafts.
No lightened add ons such as flywheels, clutches or any other add on that is not listed in the standard recognised manuel's.
No head modifications unless stated in the permitted section such as porting, cam followers or double valve springs.
No zero decking of the engine block.
No use of any other fuel whatsoever unless stated.
The scruteneer will reserve the right to stop anyone from racing should he feel that the car is not built to the correct specification or is of poor build quality.

All drivers join the club after reading the rules, accepting them and
agreeing to obey them.
You race entirely at your
own risk. Fill in the registration form and send to our contact
address before the start of the season, or bring it with you to the first
meeting and hand it in at race control. You can also pick a form up and
fill in the details at race control.
Remember all drivers must complete a registration
form before they race.
LADIES RACE
The specifications of the vehicles used in the ladies race are the exact
same as the 1600cc Banger-stoxs. All
other rules and regulations apply.
